Best time for char Dham Yatra

The best time of the year for Char Dham Yatra is April to the first half of June. This season covers pre summers and  mid- summers. The weather during this period is quite pleasant, enjoyable, and very comfortable for char Dham. 

To complete the whole char Dham yatra you need to have six days in hand. In 6 days you can seek blessings at all four sites. And even have some time to enjoy the scenic beauty of the place you are visiting.

Sites of char Dham Yatra

 

Char Dham yatra includes visiting four temples situated in different parts of the country, all the places are full of authenticity. There are many religious stories behind the establishment of these temples. The places have ancient architectural styles and the beautiful engraving adds to the beauty of the temples. The four temples include:-

  • Puri
  • Dwarka
  • Badrinath and
  • Rameshwaram

Puri- the first site of char Dham

 

The Jagannath Temple is a significant Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath, a form of Vishnu – one of the trinity of supreme divinity in Hinduism, Puri is in the beautiful state of Odisha.The Jagannath temple is sacred to all Hindus, especially to those of the Vaishnava traditions. 

The temple is one of the most spiritual Vaishnava Hindu Char Dham (four divine sites) sites. 

The temple is one of the most beautiful in India, the architecture represents the true ancient Indian style of architecture. The temple is surrounded by greenery which increases its scenic beauty.

Rameshwaram- 2nd site of char Dham

 

Ramanathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the lord Shiva located on Rameswaram island in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples across India. Ramanathaswamy, a form(avtar) of shiva, was established and worshiped by Rama, before he crossed a self made bridge to the present-day island of Sri Lanka.

The temple is decorated by a beautiful golden gopuram that enables one to locate the temple across a huge distance. The ancient form of architecture of the temple and the colors included will leave you mesmerized.

Dwarka- the third temple of char Dham

 

The Dwarkadhish temple, renowned as the Jagat Mandir and occasionally spelled Dwarakadheesh, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Krishna an incarnation of Vishnu, who is worshiped here by the name Dwarkadhish, or ‘King of Dwarka. The temple is situated at Dwarka city of Gujarat, India, which is one of the four destinations of Char Dham, a Hindu pilgrimage circuit. 

This five-storeyed temple has ancient traditional Gujarati architecture. The temple is one of the most beautiful in the whole of India. 

Badrinath- the fourth site of char Dham

Badrinarayana Temple is a Hindu religious temple dedicated to Vishnu that is situated in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the 108 temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu’s holy shrines established by saints of the Vaishnav tradition. The temple is situated in the Garhwal hill tracks in the Chamoli district along the banks of the Alaknanda River, one of the tributaries of the Ganga. 

The traditional architectural style has been followed in this temple. This issue is used for the beauty of the temple. The view of natural beauty from the temple including mountains, glaciers, meadows, and rivers will make you mesmerized and speechless.

Conclusion

 

The journey across the four cardinal religious sites in India is considered sacred by Hindus who aspire to visit these temples once in their lifetime for spiritual gains. Traditionally the trip starts at the eastern end from Puri, proceeding in a clockwise direction in a way typically followed for circumambulation in Hindu temples. The temples even promote tourism of these sites granting employment to many.

The religious significance mixed with the beliefs of the population has made these the places most significant of all. Visiting these temples is once in a lifetime experience to enjoy this exploration journey.
